We require someone who can read patterns accurately, use a variety of sewing machines with ease, and has a basic understanding of fabric types and their properties. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential.
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Following patterns and instructions to create custom-made curtains and other fabric treatments.
- Ensuring all seams are strong, straight, and aesthetically pleasing.
- Pressing seams and edges to achieve a professional finish.
- Using different techniques to hem, sleeve, and other finishing touches on curtains.
- Inspecting finished products for quality assurance.
- Assisting with the setup and maintenance of sewing machines.
- Keeping the sewing area clean and organized.
